Tea Time

One of the big food trends for this year is tea! Teas are not just for drinking, they re great for liqueur infusions, desserts, and savory main dishes. Didn t know you could do all those things with tea, huh? Here are the four most popular types of tea made from a shrub called camellia sinensis. Black tea It s the most common tea in the West. They re pretty easy to find but you usually find them in tea bags and not the loose leaf kind loose leaf black tea is traditionally sold in a compressed brick-like form. Black tea is the most bitter of the bunch and also has the most caffeine since it s the most oxidized of the four. The best thing about this tea is that it keeps its flavor quite well because it s stronger. How To Find the Perfect Wedding Venue

You’ve got the ring, you may have set the date, but the perfect venue? Where do you begin? Picking the venue can be challenging because it tends to set the tone that you and your partner envision for the wedding. Want a sleek, modern wedding? A farmhouse may not necessarily be your best option, but Mason Murer or Westside Culitural Arts Center could be great options! Seeking a classy, elegant wedding? The Venetian Room would be amazing. Here are some questions you should consider during your quest for the perfect wedding venue: Parameters: Is the venue in an accessible location or area? Accessibility: Are there enough parking spaces? If not, are there other transportation options for your guests? Space: How many guests do you plan on inviting? Is the venue large enough to accommodate all of your guests? Logistics: Do you plan on having the venue sectioned off for dancing, eating, and drinking? If so, will the guests be able to float freely from section to section? Sound: How are

A 25th Anniversary “Vegas Holiday” Themed Party

There are many reasons to celebrate in our personal lives and in the corporate world; weddings, birthdays, bar & bat mitzvahs, retirements, holidays, and product launches but one of the most exciting is an anniversary. GE had the honor of planning and catering the Vegas Holiday themed, 25th Anniversary Party for one of the largest tortilla manufacturers in America, OLÉ Mexican Foods. Through the years, OLÉ has expanded on the promise of delivering quality, authentic Mexican foods.  They use the same principles that took them from a small, family-run business with one small tortilla press in the suburbs of Atlanta, to a company with facilities in multiple states throughout the U.S.  Working with this client and learning about the history and business principles was truly inspiring for GE.  This great company deserved to have the best holiday themed, 25th anniversary party imaginable…and that it was. On December 14th at The Foundry at Puritan Mill, GE delivered a fantastic event

Upcoming Atlanta Catering and Food Trends in 2014

2014 is here and we’re excited to share some trends we re predicting: Glorious Events prides ourselves in staying current and we showcase this passion in the events that we cater. We hesitate at using the word prediction, but we ve seen some trends and interests in certain foods and ingredients that might make your catered party in 2014 much talked about. Not many people really know what  artisanal  means, but it sure sounds good. Just five years ago, you virtually never heard anything described as artisanal, but today s discerning catering customers demand it — even if they couldn t tell you what it is (as used today, it means handcrafted, usually in smaller amounts and probably but not necessarily with better ingredients). Everyone wants artisanal beer, artisanal cheese, artisanal bread, even artisanal pickles. Cooking with Tea – Teas come in all sorts of delicious tastes and varieties, from whites to reds to greens. Setting the Table: From Meager Beginnings to Atlanta Catering Events

The nappe (cloth) covered table doubled as napkins so the guests could wipe their hands on it. Food was often served family style, in big platters ( messes ). Each mess typically served around four people and you would scoop a small portion into your trencher with your spoon. So what s up with the fork and how did it end up on the table? The introduction of t
